Legislation

Since November 1st, 2014, all new vehicles must be equipped with a TPMS (TPMS = Tyre Pressure Monitoring System).

There are 2 types of TPMS:
  1. Direct system: - The surveillance is done through active TPMS valves in the wheels
  2. Indirect system: The surveillance is done via the ABS sensors

What does it mean for you?

If your car is equipped with a direct system, after a few years the valves have to be serviced (seals, etc.) Formula Pneus is equipped to service them.
The TPMS battery must also be checked as its lifetime is around 5 to 7 years.
When the battery voltage is too low, the TPMS valves must be replaced.

Our TPMS service

Formula Pneus is equipped with a TPMS management tool. With this equipment we can service TPMS valves and systems.
This tool is mandatory on some cars as we need to edit the wheel settings in the car's ECU when winter/summer wheels are swapped to avoid an alarm of the system.
When a TPMS valve is defective, we can clone it to a new TPMS valve and reset the alarm on the dashboard through the OBD-II interface of your car.
Our TPMS management tool is enabled to work on the "Supercars" category
